The delegate forum for the International Film Festival of Kerala, staged a protest at the Chalachitra Academy office at Sasthamangalam, on Wednesday, demanding cut down in the delegate fee for the film festival.
The forum, was formed two weeks ago by a group of delegates, with the aim of protesting against the increase in fee, collecting fine amounts after due-date, seat reservation for VIPs and the like. Claiming the newly introduced norms have commercial interests, the forum seeks to protect the interests of the delegates. “Success of each festival rests with the delegates, hence their interest should be taken care of, ” says Mr. Salman, member of the forum.
Before the registration of the 16th IFFK commenced, delegate fee was hiked from Rs. 300 to Rs. 400, students fee from Rs.!50 to 200. Registration after the due-date was to be charged an amount of Rs. 600.
The office bearers, Mr. K. V. Padmanabhan (President), Mr. Sagar Mohan Roy (Secretary) and a few others had also submitted a plea to Culture Minister K C Joseph, seeking redressal of their demands.
